Girraween Camping & Hiking Weekend

Take in the fresh air, amazing views and memories to be shared with other adventurous women! All hikes are optional, there will be down time during the day.

Camping: In Stanthorpe with plenty of amenities.

Friday:  We plan to carpool from the Sunshine Coast around 11:30am for the 3 1/2 hour drive . Time to set up camp and get settled in. Check out Dr Roberts Waterhole and Underground Creek 4km. Stir Fry dinner all together around the camp fire getting to know one another. 

Saturday:

We will walk the Granite Arch track 1.6 KM that flows into the  3.6 KM return to The Pyramid. 

Relax along the rippling creek at the Junction while reading a book or chatting with a new friend, check out the visitors centre, welcome to venture along to some of the other nice short walks at the National Park. Also it's the season of grapes so go check out the wineries in Stanthorpe for lunch or BYO lunch. BBQ dinner around the campfire enjoying some laughs and wine that you may of picked up from your trip into town haha.

Sunday: Sunrise Castle Rock 5.2 KM return sharing breathtaking views of the sky lighting up. We will have breaky and pack up camp. On the way out of town we will drop into the Granite Belt brewery for lunch. 

For those interested I like to incorporate some mindfulness and meditation  while out in nature which you are welcome to join in.

Grading of Tracks: Grade 3 to 4

Bushwalkers with moderate levels of experience and fitness.Tracks may be rough with steep, exposed rock inclines and many steps. Caution needed on decomposed granite and at exposed natural lookouts. Ankle-supporting footwear required.
